One of the witness says that it was like a nightmare and the Nazis were everywhere, it was very frightening.
In early December 1938 they started something called kindertransports, from Berlin to Britain they sent Jewish children to safety. The meaning of kindertransports were to save lives, but this meant that the children had to leave their family.
Only after a while there were around 1000 children that were sent to Britain and the most didn't speak English. The last kindertransport left the 1 September 1939, two days before Britain went to war against Germany.
There were 10 000 Jewish children that been saved by the kindertransports.
Well, I think that this is a really sad story, that so many Jewish children had to leave their family. Even if I think that the kindertransports was a really go idea, because this saved many people, but if the war never started there wouldn't have to save the children.
I wish that there would be more interviews so that we could get more perspective, but I still like the idea BBC got, that they would do a short podcast about the war. Not about the fighting, not about Hitler, but about the children, about the Jewish children and get to know a little that really happened. Something that make us realize that we, the human kind is monsters sometimes but that we can always find a way through our problems, we only need to think more before acting.
